The weather put on an extraordinary show for us yesterday as we explored our local area. We:
- strolled through the littoral (closed) rainforest in Tomakin with Bernadette
- looked for whales at the headland at Tomakin; observed how the ocean moved to the beaches; and looked back over the houses to see the forest where we had walked
- ran on Tomakin beach and watched the Westpac helicopter practise some manouvres
- had lunch beside the glassy Tomago river at the Mossy Point boat ramp and watched the pelicans tussle over fish scraps
- walked up the steps to the anchor on Mossy Point headland and saw how the ocean moved into the river mouth, then to the river
- walked from the North Broulee toilet block around to Candlagan Creek
- walked across the Candlagan Creek bridge and looked at some old photographs of the first footbridge. We also looked at the plaque citing the history of the Rover
- observed and walked around the Canoe Tree
- had lots of little rides on a bus!
