It was wonderful to look up during our K-2 Assembly on Friday to see so many grandparents! A big thank you to all of the families who were able to make it along to share in our special day of celebration.
Our Kindergarten children were very excited to share their song and drum playing of the song "Slowly, Slowly walks my Grandad" at assembly. They were equally excited to join with their visitors to teach them some international folk dances. We were ever so pleased to see so many Grandparents and relatives join in so readily and comfortably with 'Ha Mishpak Shelli' from Israel, the Tarantella from Italy and a good old 'Heel and Toe Polka' Australian bushdance - and it seems they all had a wonderful time in doing so!
Following a tour of the school, the children proudly gave their grandparents a portrait they had carefully sketched and coloured of them. Thank you Grandparents, parents, friends and family members for helping to make Grandparents Day such a memorable one.
