Teddy bear week included teddy bear motor skills. teddy bear boot camp, teddy bear biscuit making, teddy bear maths, teddy bear paintings, teddy bear descriptions, teddy bear stories and teddy bear craft. What a fun teddy bear week we had!
Our maths activities have had an Easter focus, and have been very engaging for the children. We made hot cross buns using kinetic sand and others with brown paper. Both of these types of buns were cut in half where the children concluded that 'half' means two, equal pieces. We used large outlines of Easter eggs to create patterns using various materials, played an Easter board game, used the Kidpix program on the computers to draw an oval and decorate it as an egg, and rolled two dice to add and colour an Easter egg. We also used our bunny ears to double numbers! This week, the children had an Easter themed challenge. They worked in pairs to design a sliding vehicle for an Easter egg! The criteria were: the vehicle had to hold an egg, and it had to keep the egg safe when it crashed into another vehicle (derby style). As you can imagine, this challenge was a lot of fun, ending in chocolate for all! Thank you Mrs Enright :) |
